Joseph Robert Sowell, known as Bob, is President / Partner of Destination Designs, LLC. As
President, Bob not only oversees the operations of the company but is the creative leader for the projects commissioned to this company. Projects have included condominium
developments, boutique hotels, time share properties and private residences throughout the United States. In addition, Bob has been instrumental in the ongoing development of several residential and golf communities.

Bob received his Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design degree from Texas Tech University in
1983 along with hours to minor in Architecture. Further education includes attending Harvard Graduate Program, Interior Design along with ongoing Continuing Education Programs requiredto maintain his Interior Design professional accreditation and Licenses in Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. With his concern for the environment, Bob has added the accreditation as a LEED Accredited Professional to his education.

Bob began his career in the hospitality design world with Club Corporation of America
(ClubCorp) in Dallas as an Interior Designer. In the 80’s, ClubCorp was developing record
numbers of City and Country Clubs throughout the United States which Bob was involved in
designing. In 1987, Bob was relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee as Director of Design for the
Northeast Region. With an annual budget of up to eighteen million dollars, he oversaw the
capital improvements for the eighty-six operating properties which included Firestone Country Club and the Metropolitan Club in the Sears Tower, Chicago.

In 1995, ClubCorp’s re-origination required Bob to move back to Dallas which he declined so his three sons could continue to be raised in East Tennessee. At that time, Bob founded Group One Designs, LLC. This company continued to provide services to a number of existing country clubs along with the development and construction of several new country clubs and private residences.

In 2004, Destination Designs, LLC was founded with the merger of two companies, Group One Designs and Furniture Designs, a hospitality furniture manufacture. From that point, Bob and his business partner have been successfully providing interior design services with custom designed and manufactured furniture for their clients.
